Local tree services provide wood we process into seasoned firewood. However, we accept donations from others as well.

Our Vision
No one should HAVE to buy firewood for home heating!
People should be able to heat their homes and keep their families warm in the winter, but doing so should not prevent them from feeding their families or skipping needed medications. Yet, many in our community are faced with making that type of tradeoff.
The Ministry
WNC FireWood Ministry is a 100% volunteer-based organization set up for the sole purpose of providing free firewood to our neighbors in need. See our volunteering page.
By establishing relationships with other local organizations, we are working to eliminate duplication of effort and increase efficiency in meeting the huge local need.
The Nonprofit
WNC FireWood Inc. is a separate entity from the Ministry. Two entities, one purpose:
Providing neighbors in need with
FREE home heating firewood.
The Nonprofit is responsible for funding, purchasing, repairing, training, and related tasks associated with capital equipment used by the Ministry. This frees the Ministry to focus on its core mission of producing and distributing firewood.
Productivity Improvement Plan
The nonprofit has initiated a 3- to 5-year capital plan to enhance the Ministry’s firewood production by acquiring commercial and professional-grade firewood processing equipment. See:
